COHOCTON.
- D.J. Harris and the Wayland-Cohocton Golden Eagles bounced back
from last week's loss to Hornell in a big way, capturing a key 26-12
LCAA victory over visiting LeRoy.
The Eagles built a 20-0 halftime lead and never looked back. Harris
rushed for 210 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries, eclipsing
1,000 yards on the season in the victory. The senior standout has
now rushed for 1,016 yards and 13 scores.
Junior Dylan Shaffer also had a big night on the ground for the Eagles,
pounding out 100 yards and a score on nine carries. Tyler Thielges
paced the defense with eight tackles as Way-Co surrendered less than
20 points for the first time since shutting out Wellsville 44-0 in
Week 2.
Way-Co finishes the regular season 5-2, the program's highest win
total since the squad finished the 2004 campaign 7-2. Le Roy dropped
to 3-4.
